At the annual meeting of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) in Cleveland, he was honored to deliver the I. E. Block Community Lecture 2026, one of the flagship keynote lectures of this international event. This distinction reflects the recognition of his work in mathematical modeling applied to biological systems.
His presentation Modeling for Life with a Little Help from Our Friends highlighted the role of interdisciplinary approaches, where mathematics, biology, data science and artificial intelligence complement each other to better understand life and accelerate scientific innovation.
