Roche’s Commitment to Accessibility
Our Commitment
At Roche, we are committed to ensuring that all users can access our websites and digital resources. We recognize that achieving full accessibility is an ongoing journey, and we are actively working to improve the accessibility of this website and implement organization-wide changes to enhance the usability and inclusion of all our digital touchpoints.
Standards and Guidelines
Our compliance goal is based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Levels A and AA, which are recognized as the international standard for web accessibility. These guidelines set the standard for making web content accessible to everyone. Our technologies are partially compliant, meaning some parts are not fully in line with the accessibility standard.
Ongoing Efforts
We are currently making significant changes to ensure our digital content and services are accessible to all, including:
- Policy changes: We are implementing new policies and process changes across all levels of our organization to promote accessibility.
- Training: We provide training at all levels to support our digital offerings. This ensures that accessibility concepts are understood and implemented correctly.
- Regular audits and fixes: We regularly test our website using automated tools and manual evaluations to identify accessibility issues and prioritize their resolution.
- User feedback and testing: We actively seek feedback from users with disabilities to improve our accessibility and validate changes.
- Third-party verification: We do not rely solely on our own expertise; we collaborate with third-party accessibility experts to confirm and verify our efforts.
- Roche has publicly committed to The Valuable 500, an organization whose mission is to use the power of business to drive sustainable change for the 1.3 billion people living with disabilities worldwide.

Accessibility Statement (RGAA)
While Roche SAS’s global commitments align with WCAG 2.2 compliance, this statement is drafted in accordance with the French Accessibility General Improvement Framework (Référentiel Général d’Amélioration de l’Accessibilité – RGAA) version 4.1.2, as required by French regulations.
Roche SAS is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with Article 47 of Law No. 2005-102 of February 11, 2005.
To this end, Roche is implementing the following strategy and actions:
This accessibility statement applies to the institut.roche.com website.
Compliance Status
The institut.roche.com website is partially compliant with the Accessibility General Improvement Framework 4.1.2.
Test Results
Preamble
As part of the internal audit, only the components over which Roche SAS has direct technical control were evaluated (HTML structure, navigation, forms, tables, textual content, etc.).
Third-party components (OneTrust pop-in and CAPTCHA solution) were detected but not studied in depth during this audit phase. Their presence is noted, and a complementary evaluation may be considered later.
For example, when the site opens, the OneTrust pop-in does not present any blocking accessibility issues. It allows users to set cookie preferences, and navigation continues normally on the page after interaction with the pop-in. The accessible names of the buttons are compliant.
However, this evaluation is limited to a preliminary observation. Roche SAS is committed to conducting a complementary evaluation based on user feedback.
Note on the English version
The digital accessibility audit was conducted on the French version of the site, which is considered representative of the whole. The English version is technically a mirror based on the same templates, components, and HTML/CSS/JS structures. Vigilance is maintained on the English version, particularly regarding the following points:
- The translation of accessible content (aria-label, alt attributes, interactive elements, etc.);
- The preservation of keyboard behaviors and proper rendering by screen readers;
- In the event of specific content, a dedicated check may be considered to ensure a satisfactory level of accessibility is maintained.
Results
The internal compliance audit reveals that:
- 52.63% of the RGAA version 4 criteria are met;
- The average compliance rate of the site is 63.2%.
Inaccessible Content
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance
- 1.2: Some decorative images are not ignored by screen readers.
- 3.1: Information is sometimes conveyed by color without technical restitution for screen readers.
- 3.2: Contrast issues were noted in videos (subtitles/background).
- 4.1: Videos do not have a transcript.
- 6.1: Some links are not explicit.
- 7.1, 7.3:
- Desktop and Mobile menus have implementation flaws for keyboard navigation, and attributes for assistive technologies are not always correctly implemented.
- The Search component lacks the correct semantics.
- 8.7: Some labels (buttons, aria-label, texts) are in English.
- 9.2, 12.6: The document structure is not coherent, and content grouping areas cannot be reached or avoided.
- 11.13: The purpose of certain fields cannot be inferred to allow for automatic filling.
- 12.7: No skip links or quick access to the main content area are present.
Exemptions due to disproportionate burden
- None in the current study.
Content not subject to accessibility obligations
- None in the current study.
